DataStore Folder & Size Details
Hi All,
Does any one have script to fetch Datastore Folders along with their Folder Size like below.
Datastore Folder Name Folder Size
------------- ----------------- ---------------
Datastore1 VM1 50 GB
Datastore2 VM2 100 GB
Some VMs are registered and Some are not registered.
Need to find those Unregistered VM Folders and need to delete after cross checking it once.

Managing Shared device lock screen PIN/PASSCODE
Hi All,
Have anybody idea how to manage shared device's passcode ? What I mean with this is, we have set "Device Passcode" for our devices to protect them a little bit with lock screen, it works perfectly with individual devices but we have some issues with shared devices. When user log-in into devices for first time device asks to create passcode and it's fine, user log-off and passcode is cleared that's also fine. But at next shift after few day's user need again to create passcode and that's not any more user-friendly. Creating passcode every time when you log-in is not acceptable for us. Any workaround or advice hot to manage this situation ?

Strange glitch in VM list of WS Pro 15.5.6 build-16341506
Hello
Running Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS (Bionic Beaver) and VMware® Workstation Pro 15.5.6 build-16341506.
I have a freshly booted system. I have a few local virtual machines and an ESXi server. This is a student's small homelab.
I log into the ESXi from the Workstation GUI. I expand the list of virtual machines on the ESXi server on the sidebar. But when I try to click on the name of any one of them, the selection immediately jumps to one of my local virtual machines. There's no way to activate any of them, not by using keyboard, not by right-clicking.
If that means anything, all the VMs on the ESXi are suspended because of a recent reboot of the ESXi server.
What should I do to fix this? I'll try to resume one or some of the VMs using the web interface of the server.

V to T migration with vCloud Director
To perform a mifration ftom NSX-V to NSX-T with vCloud director, you can use the VMware NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director 1.0 (downlodable from myvmware)
In the user guide I see the compatibility matrix:

File system overhead on Esxi7
Hi to all,
i am runiing a project for Vsan ROBO, and have 2 sites at the moment ready for production..At the moment we have only a couple of test vms in the environment.
But i noticed that there is a huge amount of "File system overhead" usage .
we dont have dedup and compression enabled snce Hybrid disk groups are used.
does anyone have a clue ? doi have start a case with vmware before we took those systems into production?

How to check how much disk space left inside Guest OS?
Based on the PowerCLI on-line help, we can create a new virtual disk then format it with NTFS.
But seems like we can't get inside the Guest OS and check how much save left in C:\ drive or D:\ drive. We can do this by using Get-WMIObject (Good example here --> http://jtruher3.wordpress.com/2006/09/08/getting-disk-usage-information/).
But using WMI means the Guest OS needs to be visible on the network, firewall ports opened, WMI services must be up, and users must be authorised.
Is there is a method via VMware Tools?

Wi-fi Calling on Android
We have a full Samsung Android estate, enrolled via AfE, and I'm looking for details on how to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
It appears to be removed during enrolment but there's not a switch or config setting to re-enable it.

Upgrading Vsphere ESXi 6.0 to 7
Hi,
i need to update a scenario with vcenter 6.0 and vsphere 6.0 to the latest one which is 7. Can i apply the latest update directly?
In the case of vcenter (vcsa) I always install a new vcenter, but in this scenario I have a vsphere replication.
What better option?
There are two servers with vsphere esxi, a vcenter and a vsphere replication.

Can a copy of Fusion run NESTED INSIDE another copy of Fusion?
For example, can Fusion v12 run on Catalina (10.15) with say guest OS Sierra (10.12) then run Fusion v8 on Sierra with say guest OS Snow Leopard (X 10.6.8)?
The reason should be obvious... the oldest guest OS that Fusion v12 supports is guest OS X 10.9 and I have software that needs an even older Mac OS. Speed is not a great concern...I also have a fast computer (27" 2019 i9 iMac 3.6GHz 8-core with 40GB RAM with Radeon Pro 580X 8GB , though I am willing to upgrade RAM if needed).
Are there some combinations of versions of Fusion that can work in this arrangement and others that cannot?

Virtual Machine OS Upgrade causes disks to be dropped
Hello,
We have a virtual server hosted currently with OS : Windows Server 2008 R2 and when Server OS is upgraded to Windows Server 2016, We have run into a problem below:
All Non OS-Disks assigned to VM were connected on iSCSI Controller with type as Paravirtual and only OS Disk C drive is connected with another iSCSI controller with type as 'LSI Logic SAS'
OS disk and NON OS Disks were intact during server upgrade from 2008 to 2012 but the NON OS Disks were dropped from the VM during server upgrade from 2012 to 2016 and this intrun caused all the services and schedule tasks installed to the non-os disks to be removed from the system.
We have performed the activity on a cloned server. For performing the upgrade on the actual Production Server, Request suggestions on handling this scenario prior to starting the upgrade, which would help not to drop the disks after/during the upgrade.

Issue with In app Tunnel configuration
Hi all,
So I am testing out in app vpn on WS1. I created the UAG and is all setup as it should. Tunnel is installed on my android device and show green and "Connected"
Now my issue is here.. I have a policy which pushes the web app onto my device which has the vpn creds binded to it it so it connect directly to the UAG and eventually access the internal app required. This is not happening for some reason. When I looked at the tunnel logs I get the following:
Tunnel Session connected
Tunnel DNS servers: 127.0.0.53
Tunnel Session successfully established.
Now on my UAG i have my proper DNS settings configured so the question is: Is the 127.0.0.53 not allowing me to access my internal apps?
Also I went to the path where the 1270.0.53 is and I changed it but after a reboot it goes back to default. What am I doing wrong here?

Export Import Folder Structure with vm´s

there are some Topics arround, but I want to ask...
I try to export Folders and VM Location on Folder to csv and import them on a differen vcenter.
Export looks ok,
-But import does only create the first Folders and all subfolders are missing.
-The VM move to destination folder is not wokring as well, problem is the subfolder as well.
I found the cheap disaster scripts....
