When the Agents Do Not start up, sometimes I can just Restart the Service. But sometimes I get error 1068 (Dependency service group failed to start). But this is not the case.
I looked at the VDM logs: "Failed to initiate shared memory over RPC, server initiate failed. 1722 (The RPC server is unavailable.)"
The RPC Service is Running...
Here's what I've done:
> Create and install Ubuntu guest under Windows 10 host
> Reboot host from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 19.04
> Try to run the same virtual machine but fails, and after that unless I restore it to a previous snapshot won't boot again even on Windows host.
How can I further debug this?
We are currently receiving a certificate error with connecting to our new Horizon 7.8 Farm via a browser. It appears the certificate error relates to the BLAST certificate. I have gone through this VMware KB (VMware Knowledge Base ) and followed the steps on the Golden image but the error persists.
When I look at the certificate error via the Chrome browser, this is what it looks like:
I have imported the Blast certificate into the Trusted Root Certificate and the intermediate Certificate stores on the Golden image however the error persists. It already exists in the Personal Certificates store. One of the strange things is when I copy the Thumbprint of our wildcard certificate for our local domain and paste it in the sslhash value of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware Blast\Config registry key the pasted value does not stay after a restart of the Golden Image.
The strange thing is at one time this was working but we do not know when it stopped working; possible when we introduced the UAGs.
We are very frustrated and looking for any suggestions.

does it have to be in my path variables?
I can run them by clicking on their vmx files but not from the launch dialog.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the 'bundle' but that has not helped.

I am trying to figure out how to have some specs of a VM returned within the catalog item request for the end user to view before the end user inputs additional catalog information. This will allow the end user to make a more informed decision before inputting additional catalog information.
Examples:
- End user selects a Catalog Item to Increase Disk Size -> End user selects VM from within Catalog Item Request -> End user is able to view returned current disk names and disk sizes of VM in Catalog Item Request before selecting how much space to increase by
- End user selects a Catalog Item to Increase vCPU -> End user selects VM from within Catalog Item Request -> End user is able to view returned current vCPU of VM in Catalog Request before selecting how much space to increase by
I have tried Data Binding, and Predefined List of Elements in the Presentation tab in Orchestrator, but I am not able to get values to return to the vRA Catalog. I have also attempted to create a custom action but still am not getting proper returns.
Has anyone come across this issue or have completed any similar tasks?

We have two datacenters, one in HQ, the other in another city, and there's a quite fast MPLS connection between both sites, but I'm not sure about the latency. We are deploying NSX-T for testing it, and I have a question about this please. Is it possible to deploy two independent NSX-T managers, on on each site to manage it's own site, and then connect them to each other and have stretched segment(s) (L2 stretching) across both sites?
We currently use Fortinet VXLAN to accomplish this across sites and works fine, but we need to leverage the capabilities of NSX-T.
One more question please, I need detailed documentation about deploying NSX-T across multi-sites.
I'm looking in Activity Monitor and two vmware-vmx processes are constantly using around 20% CPU (with thousands of Idle Wake Ups), and a third typically less than 1% when idle (with just dozens of Idle Wake Ups), however when I ssh into the servers and run the `top` command, their CPUs are typically 0% when idle.
I'm not seeing what's going on; I'm not seeing anything in VMWare (8.x or 10.x for us) that's causing this.
What do I look for or do at this point? We're using Macs anywhere from Sierra to Mojave, same behavior for these two servers.

I am not sure if anyone can help me with this before I put in an official SR with vmware. So we have a couple of connection servers that have the broker agent installed which are our View Pods.
We have had issues with the broker agent service using most of the RAM and in addition, the database team have complained about SQL deadlocks and blocking occurring. Those blocking are gone when I stop the broker agent service. I know this cannot be the fix because I definitely need the service on to record Horizon connected sessions metrics etc.
The below is on the SQL database server managing one of the connection servers.
Is anyone experiencing this kind of issue?

I've been reading up on a lot of VM backup solution options...including this one, but still not able to make a decision for a backup solution that will allow me to backup the entire VM (.vmdk) file and allow for easy restore.
The backup solution (if possible) should work with the Free ESXI version.
I've been using the free Veeam Agent backup to do file level backups daily and full and it has been working great for about 2 years now, but I'm concerned that if I have a total host failure.. my RTO will be very high.
Any suggestions on what I should do.. I'm willing to spend a bit of money if that is the right/only thing to do.

We have been using Horizon for 150 users with full clones for a few years now but we are starting to second guess this decision in light of Microsoft's aggressive end of life cycle for Windows 10.
Our users require the use of full clones. To meet common security practices, we have to ensure our VM's have the latest security updates so we cannot ignore the EOL for Windows 10 and let them no longer receive updates.
We have been using Pro licenses and we have 1809 VM's being deployed to new users currently. The majority of our users still have 1803 so they will have to change by this November. The pro license of 1809 will be obsolete in May 2020 so their EOL in short as well. Our users are not going to be happy with us giving them new machines regularly and having them re-install their programs every 6 months or less. We are looking into changing the licenses on our 1803 and 1809 machines to Enterprise instead of Pro which will delay this concern out until November 2020 and May 2021 thus give us some breathing room. It looks like this could be done by just updating the license number, so they will be able to keep their current VM and be oblivious to the change.
NOTE: We attempted to try in-place upgrading for 1803 to 1809 but we are running into random VM freezing so it looks like fresh OS builds are our only reliable option.
The problem I am now looking at is build 1903 is setup to expire in December of 2020. THIS IS NUTS!!! Is Microsoft no longer allowing Enterprise licenses more time? VMware doesn't even have support for 1903 yet and nobody I have talked to has a clue as to when they will. Even if we get support for 1903 by the end of the year, this leaves us less than a year for our users to use it before they have to get a new machine and we start all over again. In all practicality, our users would be needing to get new machines and re-install everything every 6 months (based on delays for VMware to support the latest OS and getting everyone changed).
Is anyone else out there using full clones and come up with a reasonable way to work through these issues?
Now that Microsoft has acquired FSLogix, I'd like to start a discussion around using BOTH FSLogix & UEM together.
One of my pain points with UEM is around Microsoft's User-based setups of OneDrive and Teams... These apps are bloating the User Profile and causing delays. And still have limitations.
Those using VMware AppVolumes can work around some of these issues, but going forward it seems Microsoft will be leveraging VHDs as part of the new modern Profiles.

We are trying to enable modern authentication for our O365 Tenant, but the second login, the user have to retype the password on Outlook or they have to click the button "Fix me" in Microsoft Word to access the work email account again.
The workaround we found out, it works with basic authentication only
(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity:"EnableADAL"=dword:00000000).
No password prompt in Outlook or "Fix me" in other Office programs.
Is there any way to enable the modern authentication with Persona Management ? Are there any files that need to be synced by Persona ?

vSphere web client will not allow me to create a new VM with a disk larger than the free space available, even if it is thin provisioned.
It will, however, happily allow me to create as many disks as I want that are below the size free, even if the total is more than the free space available.
How can I force creation of a single disk that is larger than the free space in the datastore?
I am not concerned about over-provisioning since once this VM is loaded with software, it is going to be exported to another host.
We've been struggling with an NSX-T deployment on hosts with only 2 pnics. So far we've managed to deploy the managers and migrate all vmkernels over to a single N-VDS, and we now have all VM's running on the platform too.
We're currently trying to deploy an Edge node on top of it to take over all the routing for the VM's using a single Tier0 router. Tier 1 isn't required as it is not multi-tenanted. We then create a LS linked to the edge node and have moved a test VM onto it. It can ping the interface on the the T0 router on the same subnet, but is not able to ping the interface IP assigned to the uplink, and therefore can't get out to the internet.
In terms of the setup of the Edge TN, we have the following:
N-VDS - nic1 assigned to existing management segment
From the Edge node NSX config screen:
N-VDS1 - nic2/fp-eth0 - linked to tz-overlay with transport vlan 20 for Edge TEP IP(different from the esxi host transport node TEP VLAN).
N-VDS2 - nic3/fp-eth1 - Segment on VLAN 10 - uplink to physical network / router / additional transport zone (tz-edge-vlan)
nic4/fp-eth2 - Disabled (disconnected from the Edge VM in vSphere)
One thing that bugs me is that the if I look at the transport zone page, the tz-edge-vlan has a status of unknown.

Is there any technical reason why a VM running a virtual Firewall with plenty of available resources would show more than 1% or 2% of CPU Wait time? (Host has only this VM running and more physical cores that the VM is assigned).
My understanding in this case should be that whenever the VM requests CPU time it should always be served immediately as no other VM is competing.
Can someone help? I did not found any logs on C: .. perhabs someone can tell me how i can set the debug mode.... its very anoying....
