  So we have 2 vCenters one in our Branch Office the other in our Main.  The Main office has vCenter 6 while the Branch has vCenter 5.5 (do to Hardware Compat with 6.0 esxi). I am wondering if I would be able to run VMware Replication between these two vCenters? Yes I know i need to ensure Hardware Compat stays at 9 and ensure all other compatibility are monitored too. Will VR work between different  versions VR ver6 - VR ves 5? Also will VDP replicate across versions also or do both need to be same version which means same version vCenter?

I followed this guide for implementation. I have VROPS v6.4 with vCenter v6.5 and Trying to monitor SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2016 R2. No firewall in between.

I am encountering an odd issue with instant clone desktop pools. The default "Logoff after Disconnect" option of 120 minutes was chosen when the desktop pools were created. Now that timer cannot be modified from what I can tell. If I create a new desktop pool and, during creation, set the option to a different ## (say 360) then I end up with the same result: The desktop pool has the timer set to 360 but I cannot modify it.

Does anyone know if this is a known bug? Google is coming up empty.  Is there another way of modifying an instant clone desktop pool beyond the web console? I'd have to have to recreate them...

Due to some limitation of my device (Linux 32 bit) I have to use old version of workstation 7.1.6.

I have two questions regarding that:

1) Is there any possible way to use it for evaluation purpose first?

Further, there is no "Get Free Trial" option For Workstation 7 series and from Workstation 8 Series "Get Free Trial" link takes me to latest available version that is Workstation pro 12.5.

2) In feature I may need to get license (after verifying it is working for me), but I am not able to find that also.

Is it possible to get license for older vmware workstation version like 7.1.6. If yes then how??

We are stacked at the edge of converting physical server to Virtual that source system total disk capacity does not fit into data store in destination. It seems the solution could be only distributing the partitions between the data stores. The Vcenter Converter version is 6.1.1 and build  3533064 we use. when I searched in the net and I found that specific version of the Vcenter Converter has the capability to distribute source partitions over the data stores in destinations?  But couldn't find the exact version. Do any of you has an information about the issue? I would appreciate if you could help.

KB 2134063 Currently, there is no resolution. and work around is enable the SMBv1.0 which not solution in this case , the Client decline the request.

My company would like to try and Thinapp Visio 2016. I am first wanting to know if this is possible or if we should Thinapp Visio 2013 instead.

When configuring ESP language pack on Windows 10 LTSB Professional Edition on the master image, the linked clones do not have the ESP language option configured on the operating system.  lTSB version is a slim down version of Windows 10 without the all the extra features. The behavior does not occur on full version of Windows 10 Professional edition.

UEM deletes Favorites every log off. They vanish from our Network folder. The odd part it's only at the top layer. Favorites will save if you put them in a folder. In my attached screenshot. Everything inside the folders Favorites, Favorites Bar, and Links for United States stays. However my Google link deletes. I've tried with Folder Redirection and messing with the default IE config file. However, I can't find any help.

I have vFTD VM running on VMware Workstation 9.0.4.When i run VM with 3 network adapters,its stable and = working fine without any issue.i need to use 4 Network adapters when i add fourth network adptor in my VM,it reboots continuously and it become unstable. I already Removed ghost network adapters and change Network Adapter type to VMXNET3,but it does not give any improvement. It shows message like below, Begin to dump crashinfo to flash .......... i want to know when start replication for first it will  do a full sync(initial sync) create a large file after that all of instance have low size but today after 5 day  i see in my instance the first sync (full sync) not show in outgoing replication in point in time tab i thought first sync will be remain

is that normal full sync will be delete after few days ? my rpo is every 10 min 12 instance for 2 days

Problems to register the VM-Series Firewall as a Service on the NSX Manager

• In Panorama > VMware Service Manager, the NSX Manager is registered - OK
• In VMWare > Networking & Security > Service Definitions > Services (Panorama is inside with in service status) - OK
• In Panorama > VMware Service Manager > VMWare Service Definitions> VM-Series OVF URL is Registered with PA Authorization Code (I'm using this PA-VM-NSX-8.0.0.vm100.ovf) - OK

Deploy the VM-Series Firewall

• After: Enable SpoofGuard and rules
• in Networking and Security > Installation > Host Preparation (do not show the option to install the VM series  firewall in vmKernel)
• In VMWare > Networking & Security > Installation > Service Deployment >  PALO ALTO VM show when I try to create a new serviced in Select Services & schedule, however the service status stay as FAILED

When I check the summary tab in the webgui of my VCSA 6.5 then under overall health it says unknown. Under Health Messages "unable to get information on available updates" is reported:

When I switch to the Update Section in the Navigator and check the repository for updates, it says that all updates are already installed:

Also by checking the health via API it says "health; gray". The update settings are all left to their default settings.

On my vCenter Server Appliance VM, I get "soft lockup - CPU## stuck for ##s!" message.

What can I do to prevent this, or at least, make them appear less often ?

honestly I think there is some sort of disconnect between the training that is stated as required and what the questions are in the test. An example - 'what two objects can be edited in the distributed switch' (or something along those lines). Where is this shown in the above list of training resources? In addition, a number of training links take me to a youtube video, that is only a few minutes long. Something doesn't seem right here and I don't want to drop a third $120 for this exam. I've already submitted a ticket to the VMware cert support and I didnt get any traction other than 'follow the blueprint.'

Is there anyone out there who can recommend a book to study to pass this exam? I cannot find a VCA6-DCV book anywhere, the closest I have found is the following:
