I found that the inventory service is not starting up and look up the log in C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\logs\vpostgres

The DB status is always in "starting up" with FATAL. Does anyone know how to fix it? Please find attached logs.

Why is there still trafic through the VMware Network Adapter when it's shut off?

I see trafic through the adapter using Wireshark, why is that? And can i stop the trafic until i turn the vmware on?

Did latest Windows 10 upgrade this AM and saw that my printers were no longer visible on task bar at top of screen on Fusion 11.1.1?

I have tried to re-install VMware tools thru menu as well as manually per instructions.  No effect.  Can not see printers or any USB devices (all printers are connected via USB).

We have several clients running into this issue with the latest one being on ver 6.0u2. What happens is that I'll try to edit a VM, when I click OK even without changing anything, it throws the error "The disk capacity specified is greater than the amount available in the datastore". The datastore of the current one I'm working on is 500GB in size and the total amount committed + used was less than 400GB. It almost seems like it's not calculating the used space and only looking at the free space available.

I have been unable to find a solution for this. Does anyone have any hints on how I should go about resolving this issue?

Hi, I have installed manually VmWare tools, now it running, also I have installed NetworkManager. I see my CentOS virtual machine MAC-address in virtual switch. But I still have no network in CentOS virtual machine. Why?

I'm able to open files that are stored on my Desktop and Documents from Windows to my macOS application, but not files stored at other Windows locations. VMware mention sharing options, but I have absolutely no idea about how to share folders to my macOS, and I can't find any documentation on this when searching.

I'm new to vRA 8.1, and I'm pretty happy of lots of things improved !

But while trying to reproduce my Blueprint and its Custom Form from vRA 7.5 to vRA 8.1, I'm struggling with something that was not difficult previously.

I need to fill a dropdown list with a REST API call from an external vRO action.

The REST Host was successfully added in vRO (this is one of the inputs for this action and it's working fine).

I need two others inputs to filter the content of the list that I'll display on form:

- environment of blueprint (easy as I added it in the inputs section of the Blueprint, I just select it in Fields)

- the group that is granted to acces only some items in the original list and here is my problem...

This group should be different for each project as projects replace Business Groups.

So I set a custom property in my project with one of the possible values, but I'm struggling retrieving this property in the custom form designer or inside my vRO external action.

In vRA 7.5, I was passing the Business Group name to my vRO external action and then used the action System.getModule("com.vmware.library.vcaccafe.subtenant").getCustomPropertyNames(subtenant) to retrieve all properties of the BG and then retrieve my property value.

But now it's just becoming a nightmare on the vRO side...

• No vRA plugin...
• No action containing the word 'project'
• API explorer not organized to list vRA capabilities

I found this action that I could use: com.vmware.library.customProperties.getCustomProperty but its input is object type and I don't see any trace of method somewhere to get my project in the API so how can achieve that ????!!

I was curious enough to find something in API and did a test using Server.getObjectsWithCustomPropertyKey(myCustomProperty) and it return an empty object

We are looking at standing up a ECDSA (ECC) based PKI managed via Digicert and configuring AW UEM to act as a RA with that.  The Offline Root CA, ICA, and device certs will all be ECDSA based.  Has anyone done this?  References I see in the documentation seem to mention predominately RSA based 2048bit certs.

Appreciate any info or feedback that folks have.

I am looking for a way to allow a user to choose their AD bind location at request time in vRA 8.1. We were able to achieve this in 7.6 by overriding a custom property and away it went, so now I'm trying to achieve that same behavior within 8.x. I've already got AD integration configured and I can see vRA creating/deleting computer objects in the configured OU. Now I'm looking for a way to override the location.

I understand it may be possible if we bypass the use of AD integration in favor of event subscriptions and custom workflows. I've also read a few users here complain that AD integration has a few bugs in it where objects are not getting created. Ideally I'd first like to give AD integration a shot before looking at the subscription method.

I am trying to write a script that lists the data store name, the cluster it belong to and the ID in a format that looks about like this:

I poked around and found 2 scripts that do each of the parts, but I cannot figure out how to merge them, so so speak.

As the title says I'm trying to get Genshin Impact to run on a Windows 10 VM on VMware ESXI version 6.7. It's taken quite a long time but so far I've managed to set up a VM with a NVidia Geforce 2070 passed through to the vm. I added the line ```hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE"``` to the vmx file and hooked up a dummy monitor to the GPU to allow Parsec to remotely connect to it. I've tested several games such as Minecraft Java Edition, Subnautica Below Zero(running on Steam), and Rocket League(running on the Epic Games Launcher) and they all work fine.

After looking for a while on line I've come up with several more lines to add to the vmx file that seem to fix a similar problem with a game called Sword of the New World. However, when I run Genshin Impact it still comes up with a gui saying "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine."

I have also found that if running the vm off of KVM with Linux(which I am not willing to do after spending three weeks teaching myself how to setup ESXI with a VM that can be remotely accessed with parsec) apparently upon adding

I feel that there must be an equivalent string I can add to the vmx file for VMware ESXI that would do the same thing but after quite a bit of research I haven't found anything that works. I did come across a lot of users and forums that explain that it will not work on Shadow or virtual box, but nothing about VMware. Does anybody know an equivalent command for ESXI?

Trying to install latest VCSA  7.0.1 trial in lab under VM Workstation but getting "Unable to save IP settings" during the set up phase no matter what I do.

VM is allocated 2 x Intel Core i7-10700, 11.7 GB memory. Its got a static IP and bridged to the local network which has a DNS server which I am confident is working because I can see the lookups and replies.

Wanting to get a lab running for NSX-T 3.0. Relatively new to this.

My CPU incompatible with anything above version 12 of workstation player

The new Windows 10 2004 won't install unless I remove Player 12.

Will there be a way to run player 12 on windows 10 2004 once I upgrade ? will it really break something or Microsoft is just being too cautious by blocking version 12 ?

I need to get the project ID to use as an input to an action on a custom form. I am wondering if there is an easier way than calling the vRA API to list all projects and then parse the ID from the response. While I can certainly go this route I'm trying to be as efficient as possible as to not cause long form load times.

I have three Servers connected via a pair of stacked Switches (dedicated to iSCSI and vMotion) to an iSCSI SAN.  Currently I am using the built in 1Gbps ports as follows:

The iSCSI links are spread across the two switches so that if one goes down, connection to SAN will not be lost.  Each host has only about 5 VMs on it so in order to obtain some more density and not saturate the single LAN port I have obtained new Intel I350-T4 NICs that I will be installing this weekend.

I have ancient server based to two XEON processor and X6DVA-4G motherboard. But it has 12 GB memory, big RAID controller, good cooling system and working stable and fine.

My main problem, it working only on Linux (or any version of Windows), but not work in any version of VmWare.

Usually I load any Linux to this server with option acpi=off and any Linux working fine, windows chose correct options automatically.

How is possible to install to this server VmWare? How to force VmWare working as Linux with mode acpi=off ?1

With Horizon for Linux (not enterprise) do you still setup HCS?

Also since there is no AD auth with non enterprise how do you auth to the desktop?
