I trying to add Esxi to a device monitoring tool via SNMP and it is adding successfully
but in order to get the health status of the hard disk the vendor is saying that value of storage status should be "set"

VCSA 7.0.0 has internet connectivity to vmware.com (tested with wget)
I disabled the Cluster QuickStart (as I have seen someone posting that this change fixed this for him)
I am only seeing this issue with the last/new cluster that was recently setup but to my understanding it is the VCSA that should reach vmware.com and not the hosts.
Account to access vmware.com is valid as I logged in manually to test. The other clusters managed by the same VCSA are not showing this warning.
Any further recommendation or help, I checked the vsan health log on the VCSA but there is a lot of information being generated unless you can give me any clue on what could cause this and thus what to look for.
The rest of the Skyline Health checks are all green.

We have a LOB app that is using device based licensing and deployed via VPP to our mdm enrolled iPads. The LOB app runs almost continuously on the iPads and in most cases we are able to get them to update to the latest version in relatively quick succession.
However, we tend to have some stragglers that are running versions behind and we cannot track this since there isn't a way to monitor installed app version (as far as i know). When pushing the app upgrades manually its prompting the end users to allow the update since the app is in use. Other than manually doing an add/remove on those devices each time they miss the update is there any way to make it force upgrade without user input?
Hopefully I explained the goal well enough.
I am currently on Fusion 8. I wanted to upgrade to Fusion 11, but in the middle of my researching that upgrade, Fusion 12 was released and 11 is no longer available for purchase.
Can a paid VMware Fusion 12 Player license be downgraded to Fusion 11?

I'm looking into buying a refurbished server for practising VMware virtualization (basically building a home datacenter with 1 vCenter, 2 or more clusters with 3-4 ESXi per cluster, and at least about 10-20 VMs (things like 2 Windows Server, 1 SQL Server, 1 Exchange Server, 5-10 Windows 10 end-clients) and to practise vMotion, DRS, FT, and then add on top of that NSX for network virtualization). I have the following specs in mind.
1 x AMD EPYC 7xxx Series OR Intel Xeon E5-2630 v4 - any speed between 2.20 to 2.50 GHz 16C (I am looking into boards with 2 CPU sockets but only using 1 socket for now)
4 x 1.2TB SAS 10K/15K 2.5"
Integrated NIC 1Gb 2 or 4 port
Raid10 with 2GB Cache Module Controller
16GB/32GB ECC RAM- Total up to 96GB or 112GB
Anyone one having any suggestions from any aspect of having a home server, and their experiences that might help.

Hello at all,
I have install the current Version of the VMware Horizon Client (5.2) on the current Raspbian Buster Distro.
The installation went smoothly.The subsequent scan was also error-free and the scan shows succesfull on all.
But now after the Installation I can not start the Client on the VMware Horizon Client Icon. I get only the hourglass which disappears after a short time.
I also tried to start the client (vmware-view as command) via the console I there I will get this error:
/usr/bin/vmware-view: Zeile 167: /usr/lib/vmware/view/bin/vmware-view: Kann die Binärdatei nicht ausführen: Fehler im Format der Programmdatei
Does anyone have a Idee or Solution for that?

I've installed 2 nodes (Dell T440) with ESXi 7.0 Update 1 from Dell.
Installed on a dual SD card.
Installed, after first reboot I insert the NTP settings and the licenses . Saved.
If I'll reboot the server this customizations are lost.
I've same problems in 2 differents nodes.
Do you have any suggestions ?

Trying to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12:
"Unable to configure the network card because the kernel device (eth0, wlan0) is not present. This is mostly caused by missing firmware (for wlan devices)."
The setup fails with a YaST error related to the network card & drops to the console.

I've been searching all over for a way I could match disks inside windows to vmware's harddisk
The problem is when I have disks with same scsi id on more than one scsicontroller (for ex. (1:0) and (0:0))
I found some scripts that compare the scsicontroller.bus number with the windows scsiport -1 but its not always the case..sometimes its -2 and sometimes its equal with no change. Any ideas? thanks in advance
I've had zero problems until this morning when I booted the VM and can no longer use the keyboard. At the Windows login screen, I was able to enter two characters of my PIN before the keyboard quit working. Thereafter, got a "updating Windows" notice. Let that run through completion, and tried to shut down the VM. VM has been "shutting down" for the last 15 minutes, and keyboard input is still disabled, though the mouse works fine on both Mac, VM and Windows. In my Windows USB & Bluetooth settings, neither the mouse nor keyboard show up even though the mouse works fine. Have restarted the Mac Mini (2013) that this is running on and unticked / reticked the Accessibility in Security Prefs without any change. I am now unable to shut down the VM as it seems completely hung up shutting down. I've searched the threads here and tried everything I could find that seemed remotely related to this problem, and hope someone can give me a hand. Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to add a text in the vSphere VM Notes within vRA 8.1 blueprint?
Looking at Get-Module -ListAvailable, it lists the modules as being in /root/.local/share/powershell/Modules/. I'm assuming that since this directory doesn't exist on the appliance, that this path reflects something in a container.
So is it possible to drop a Module folder somewhere on the appliance to get picked up by the vRO Powershell environment?

I have created a vSan Cluster via Quickstart configuration. The Cluster itself is running and healthy. After the deployment I changed the NTP Settings of my vCenter Server Appliance and ESXi hosts. The Skyline Host compliance check for hyperconverged cluster configuration now shows me the warning “NTP settings on host <esxi host> is different from the desired settings.”.

NTP setting on hosts should be the same with the specifications. NTP setting will be persistent if it's configured via QuickStart and health check reports a warning if the NTP setting on the host is not consistent with the cluster level. If NTP is not configured in QuickStart, the health check will not validate NTP compliance status, then the user can configure it on the host later.
How to set NTP.“
Is there a way to change the NTP settings set during Quickstart / the value to validate against?
Or is my only option to recreate the cluster / silence the alert?

i want to build a homelab with:
1 vcenter 7 (appliance)
2 vsphere esxi 7 Hosts
I have got a VMware User Group Advanced Account. I have got one license for vcenter 7 and one licanse for vsphere 7.
On my server I have got one vsphere 7 (free license) installed.
The vCenter Appiance and the two vsphere esxi are nested installations.
How can i get a second license for vsphere 7 to add two esxi hosts to the vcenter for testing and learning vmotion / storage vmotion?

I'm running a licensed version of Workstation Pro 16 with Linux Mint 19.1 as the host OS and Ubuntu 20.04 as the guest OS. Sometimes, I can copy-paste content and files across the VM boundary, but it fails most of the time. Sometimes it pastes the name of the file I'm trying to copy over into some random location, sometimes it does nothing at all (no error, warning, etc.).
If I suspend/resume or restart the VM, it will work once or twice, but then no more.
I've seen a lot of discussion of similar issues in MacOS, but most of the solutions either don't apply or don't work in my case (e.g., I can't update VMWare tools because that option is disabled).
Can anyone offer suggestions?
Is the VMware Tools ISO for NetWare included in the latest release of Workstation? I installed Player, then received an error when attempting to install the tools. I then checked the online repository for VMware Tools and could not find the ISO for NetWare there, only SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Windows. Please advise. Thank you.
