We had a linux VM that was running low on disk space. I powered the vm off and added another 20 GB HDD and went to power back on I received an error stating it cannot power on until new disk has been added to replication. This client does not use replication so I removed the newly added drive thinking this would allow it to power back on. It still wont power on I am now receiving this error: A general system error occurred: PBM error occured during PreMigrateCheckCallback: Connection refused. After some research it seems to be the Profile Driven Storage service. I ssh into the vcenter appliance and checked the service it is indeed not running when I attempted to start the service it failed to start. Please if anyone has any insight to this please let me know I am pulling my hair out haven't slept all night.
