Workstation 14: Forgot to set the shared disk to independent, now it's in a snapshot :(

VMWare Desktop 14 setup.

I have a VM under the /Office directory. This VM has two hard drives. One of them is under the Office (same) directory. The VM's other drive is GDrive, under /GDrive directory. My intention was that this drive would serve as a Google Drive local copy, and might be shared between several VMs (guests).

Because of this "shared" status I wanted the GDrive disk to be Independent - the owner is really the Google cloud, and I don't want to "confuse" it with local snapshots. However, somehow the disk is NOT independent.

I found this out today: Running backup to the NAS I discovered that the host's GDrive/GDrive.vmdk file hasn't been changed for a few weeks. Researching this, I found out that there is a recently updated GDRive-000002.vmdk file under the /Office directory. This file has been created when I took a snapshot of the guest, as it should because the disk was not independent.

So now, instead of the VM having a GDRive independent "snapshotless" drive under the /GDrive folder, it has a "non-independent snapshoted" drive, the base part of which is under  the /GDrive folder, and the second part is under the /Office folder.

If you have survived my broken English thus far, do you have any idea how to fix this? Would deleting the guest's snapshot delete the GDrive addendum under the /Office directory?
