vSphere 6.0, ESXi 5.5.
I have a requirement, due to software constraints, to build an image with a static address. Much of our software requires a static address since it's 'install one, leave alone'.
As such, I need to keep them all with the same hostname and IP address. I have another small Linux VM portforwarding to make it easier on students since they're only aware of one IP address and several ports.
My problem is the network side of the house. How can I setup and manage isolated networks for 26 server sets on 16 ESXi hosts? It kind of defeats the purpose of distributed ports and standard ports require all of the machines to be on the same host. Is there a way to do and still let vSphere manage the server distribution? My ideal setup would be something like distributed port group with no uplink.
